Enterprises in Hong Kong Will Now Benefit from the Ease and Convenience Offered

Integrated Services Centres for Hong Kong SMEsSeveral services will now conveniently be available under one roof, thanks to the integrated services centres launched in Hong Kong for SMEs.

The new “four-in-one” integrated service was announced on 1 October 2019. Enterprises in Hong Kong can now obtain information about businesses, funding schemes, advisory services and more from any of the integrated services centres. The centres all also organise various workshops and seminars periodically.

Specialised Services Under Integrated Services Centres

As part of the integrated services centres for existing SMEs, here is what enterprises can expect for specialised services:

  • Service Centre for SMEs
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council will offer this as part of the integrated services centres. Enterprises looking for information on trade and commercial matters may refer to this. Information about the Mainland market (Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau-Greater Bay Area and Belt and Road) is also available. Free business consultancy regarding the Mainland market is another benefit enterprises can look forward to. Keep up to date on the government regulations, market overview, taxation matters, customs declaration and more. Additionally, business matching and exchange activities will be organised too. This is to assist local Hong Kong-based companies to establish Mainland market contacts and overseas connections too.
  • Better Support and Consultation
Provided by the Trade and Industry Department, enterprises will benefit from the SME Support and Consultation Centre. Any information related to permits and licensing can be obtained from here. The centre will also provide information about incorporating a company in Hong Kong and about operating different business types. Meetings with experts can be arranged under the “Meet-the-Advisors” Business Advisory Service. This will be useful for enterprises seeking advice on starting a business, marketing, accounting, and other legal matters.
  • One-Stop Information Hub
A “SME One” initiative is available as part of the new integrated services centre. Offered by the Hong Kong Productivity Council, it aims to be a one-stop information and advisory hub. Enterprises can locate information about implemented funding schemes, extending as far as the Greater Bay Area. This services will function primarily as a referral and information hub for SMEs to help them facilitate growth. Digital transformation, information technology, financing and technical solutions support will be given through training workshops and seminars. There are more than 40 funding schemes available in the HKSAR, and the hub will connect SMEs with the appropriate sources they need.
  • In-Depth Advisory
TechONE will be available under the new integrated services centres. This initiative is jointly provided by the Hong Kong Productivity Council and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP). Detailed information about the available funding schemes pertaining to technology-related programs will be available. This includes how to apply for the scheme and professional guidance. There will also be business matching and support options provided.
