Agreement for International Talent and Tech Innovation Strengthens Hong Kong’s Role in Technology
Hong Kong recently took a major step forward in becoming a leader in global innovation and talent development. Chief Executive John Lee and China Association for Science & Technology (CAST) President Wan Gang witnessed the signing of the Cooperation Framework Agreement on Supporting the administrative region in becoming a hub for international talent and tech innovation. This agreement aims to enhance Hong Kong and the mainland’s collaboration in research, technology, and talent.
Prof Sun Dong, the Secretary for Innovation, Technology, and Industry of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, and Luo Hui, the Director of CAST’s Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Exchange Office, led the signing ceremony.
Strengthening Collaboration in Science & Talent
Chief Executive John Lee praised CAST for its ongoing efforts to connect science and technology experts in Hong Kong and China. He stressed how this new agreement will deepen ties in several key areas, including:

- Advancing technological innovation within the Greater Bay Area
Mr Lee also emphasised Hong Kong’s vital role as a bridge between regions, reinstating the government’s commitment to international talent and tech innovation. These efforts also align with China’s goal of achieving greater independence in science and technology.

Before the signing, Mr Lee and Prof Sun discussed new opportunities for collaboration in innovation and technology with Mr Wan. Mr Wan, accompanied by a CAST delegation, also visited the Hong Kong Science Park, where they toured advanced InnoHK laboratories and learned about groundbreaking research projects.
